Becoming a Habitat homeowner is a life-changing experience that allows families to grow wealth in the equity of their home and to develop pride in their full participation in the community. Many of our partner families were living in substandard dwellings where hot water, privacy and safety were luxuries rather than "par for the course."
ECHFH, since its founding, has built 58 homes for deserving families in the East Cooper community. Our homeowners make their "sweat equity" down payment by working 350 hours, first on their neighbor's houses and then on their own new home. The 58 homes were then sold to new homeowner families with no-interest, no-profit mortgages.
Habitat houses are built with volunteer labor to keep costs low. Our "work force" is made up of students, church groups, businesses and community organizations. They generously provide their time and talent as they travel from near and far.
ECHFH is fortunate to partner with individuals, businesses, churches, and other organizations. Our partners provide financial sponsorship to defray the construction costs of new homes.
Your participation in our first GOLF TEES TO HOUSE KEYS makes you a Habitat partner. Your sponsorship will make it possible for a family to move into a new Habitat home.
